What else do we offer?!
It's arrived - with more speed than ever, welcome to the start of another busy gardening year! Traditionally quiet gardening months, there are still lots of jobs you can be doing in the garden (if the weather is kind), and in the greenhouse too.
Pruning of Fruit Trees, Ornamental Trees and Deciduous Shrubs can take place while the plants are dormant. Dependant on variety, some can be given a hard chop back to encourage fresh, new and shapely growth. If you've got rose bushes, they can be trimmed too.
Cleaning and tidying - sweep leaves from pathways and clear them from lawns to keep a tidy looking garden. Be sure to compost these leaves or place them in your green recycling bin.
If the soil isn't frozen, pay us a visit for some instant pots of ready planted spring bulbs such as Daffodil or Crocus. These can be dropped in where there are gaps in your borders. If you've forgotten to plant the bulbs you bought back in the autumn - get them in quick too!! You'll be surprised how quickly they come through and will flower just a little later than they should have.
Pansies, Violas, Primroses and Polyanthus are all now available - more plants for instant colour - use these in window boxes, hanging baskets and containers in association with winter Heathers, Ivy, and small evergreen shrubs. A simple idea, but one to give you colour over the coldest months.
If you have a greenhouse, now is the time to get it cleaned for the spring. If it's heated, you can also start sowing seeds such as tomatoes and certain bedding plants that take a long time to mature eg Begonia and Impatiens - you will need heat for these!
Look ahead to spring too - our 2020 Coach Trips are now available with more to be added soon - take a look at our destinations on our Coach Trips page.
If you're a regular visitor, why not join our Garden Club in - we offer discount weekends once a month from February to November with a chance to save 20% on all your purchases, as well as 10% OFF all our Coach Trips - visit our Garden Club page for more details.
If you haven't already, sign up for our monthly newsletter - simply send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will add you to our list. It's completely Free.
We hope you have a great gardening season ahead, and hope to see you soon.
