Hello and welcome to another gardening season..it's been a wet one so far!!!

The garden centre is filling up fast with lots of fresh new nursery stock for the year ahead. We've already had Italian specimen plants, Trees, Shrubs, Fruit, Bedding, Pots and loads more delivered, we just need some sunshine now to get everyone in the mood for gardening!

FLOODING & ROAD CLOSURE FEBRUARY 2024
The recent rainfall has caused a major problem under the railway bridge on Watery Lane. We are recommending all customers use the Wood End Lane access to get to us.
On top of this, there are major roadworks due to start near the bridge on Watery Lane which means the lane will be partly closed for up to 4 months. This work should have started on 2nd January but as yet nothing has started.
You will still be able to reach us via Wood End Lane and we will be open as usual throughout all the disruption. We are also aware that Sat Navs are taking people to the middle of a farm field...which isn't ideal! Please phone us if you need directions, we'll be happy to assist.

Garden Centre Assistant
​
We are looking for a new member of staff (possibly 2) to join our small team here at our Garden Centre based at Curborough, just outside Lichfield, working in all areas of the Garden Centre. You will need the following :
​
Essential skills & tasks you will be required to carry out :
​
* Driving Licence - you may be delivering products using our company vehicle
* Being a team player - we are a team of 3 staff, so working closely together is part of the job
* Confidence in dealing with customers and a good telephone manner
* Use of the till and credit card machine
* Plant & Gardening knowledge - we sell a huge range of plants, and get asked all sorts of questions
* Plant maintenance - watering, pruning, weeding, potting and some groundwork
* Literacy & Numeracy - for checking off deliveries, pricing products & serving at the Cash Desk
* Indoor & Outdoor working will be required in all weathers - hot or cold, wet or dry!
* Heavy lifting is also part of the role - carrying compost, gravel, large pots, Christmas Trees etc

* If you have previous Garden Centre or Nursery Experience, we are particularly keen to hear from you.
* A fork lift truck licence would also be desirable, but not essential.
​
Staff benefits include staff discount, company pension, paid holidays, free parking & uniform.
​
Rate of Pay £12-£12.50 per hour dependant on experience.
​
Hours to be confirmed, but we are looking for cover Thursday-Sunday, this may be using 2 people part time, or for the right person, 4 days a week. Additional days may become available during the busy summer season, and again in December when we start to sell the Christmas Trees.
​
This position is for immediate start, and runs up to Christmas.
​
For the right candidate this may extend beyond Christmas and become an ongoing role.
​
